Meet the WS Team: Mark Anderson

Tell us about your life and adventures outside of Winter Session…
I spend a lot of time on the road playing music with the band Paper Bird. I am the drummer. I also play in the bands Eye and the Arrow, Pine Barrens, Papa Bear and occasionally accompany Patrick Dethlefs and Stelth Ulvang. I also run a storytelling podcast called The Smallest Bone, and am a freelance videographer. I like to be outside - camping, fishing, hiking, swimming - and have eaten far too many breakfast burritos in my twenty-five years on this planet.
A typical day for you from starts with...
Coffee, breakfast burrito, read.
And ends with..
You know at the end of The Breakfast Club when the bad ass dude is walking across the football field and thrusts his fist in the air? I do that every night before I crawl into bed.
Which Winter Session bag do you carry?
I love my Felix [made by Mark himself]. It's rust and natural canvas with long straps.
Three things that are always in your bag…
Computer, book, external hard drive.
Memorable moment with your Felix...
I recently did a video shoot on a few of Denver's skyscrapers and used my Felix as the camera bag. The bag is not afraid of heights. [photo: Mark Anderson]
What's blasting in your earbuds/car stereo right now?
I've been really digging this new album by The Deslondes, have not been able to stop playing The War on Drugs "Lost In The Dream", and like to drive in the sun listening to Ty Segall or Wu-Tang Clan.
